VWATJ Celebrates Completion of 10 Millionth Product

After more than a decade, Volkswagen Automatic Transmission (Tianjin) Co., Ltd. (VWATJ) achieved another major milestone recently, with the completion of its 10 millionth product—an APP310 e-drive.

Since the start of production in September 2014, VWATJ is producing and developing transmissions and subsequently also e-drives, which are used in a wide range of locally produced Volkswagen and Audi models. So far, its actual annual production capacity has topped 1.5 million. In 2022, its first wholly invested battery system plant – Volkswagen (Anhui) Components Co., Ltd. (VWAC) – was launched in Hefei, Anhui, expanding its product portfolio with high-voltage battery systems based on the MEB platform.

At the product roll-off ceremony, Heiko Knatz, VWATJ General Manager Technical thanked all employees for their hard work, and looked forward to working towards the next milestone with all. He also noted that the company is proactively strengthening itself to adapt to the fast-moving market.
